BPA LINKS: All WBC vendors and sponsors are entitled to a free logo link on the BPA Links page.

BPA BANNER ADS: The BPA website has become one of the most popular websites for boardgames with more than 62,000 hits annually. The Boardgame Players Association accepts a limited number of banner-style advertisements ("ads") for display at its Web site. Contact Public Relations with questions about ordering a banner ad.

FEES: Ads appear on the BPA Home Page, unless otherwise requested. BPA cannot guarantee an exact placement location within a particular Web page. The rates are $100 for 1 month, $400 for 6 months, or $600 for 12 months. Full payment is due in advance. BPA Sponsors, Exhibitors, and Vendors are entitled to a 20% discount. One free change or update is allowed during the contract period. Changes include updating the banner image, link, ALT text or similar. Additional changes can be performed upon payment of a $20 service fee per change. The BPA reserves the right to change advertising rates at any time.

TECHNICAL: Each ad must consist of a graphical image 460 pixels wide by 60 pixels high stored in .GIF or .JPG format, with a maximum file size of 75Kb. (Contact the webmaster with questions or requests for other size ads.) Simple animations are allowed. No animations or multi-frame images are allowed. When submitting the file to the BPA, the advertiser should specify

  1. the URL of the Web site where the ad should link, and
  2. the "ALT" text (to be displayed when the user positions the mouse over it, if supported by the user's browser software). The BPA reserves the right to reject any ad which it, in its sole discretion, deems offensive, non-compliant with the ad guidelines, or otherwise inappropriate. If the BPA removes such an ad from its site, a pro-rated refund of any ad fees paid will be granted.

HOSTING SERVICE: Ads and related content will be hosted (stored at) the BPA Web site. Because the BPA contracts for its Web space, it cannot guarantee any particular service level or user load; temporary site inaccessibility and downtime, though infrequent, may occur. If the BPA site should become inaccessible to most Web users for a period of a week or more, the advertiser agrees that the BPA's sole remedy once service has been restored will be to, upon the advertiser's request, extend the ad placement duration by a period equivalent to the downtime.

CANCELLATIONS: The advertiser may request the BPA to cancel (remove) its ad from the site at any time. Advertisers who cancel within the first 15 days after ad placement are entitled to a pro-rated refund of any fees paid in advance.

WBC PROGRAM: The BPA annually publishes a program describing the upcoming convention. The association distributes the program to all attendees. This program is an excellent way to reach the boardgaming community. This gaming conference is unique and known worldwide for its emphasis on competitive play of boardgames. It continues to attract the largest turnout of boardgame competitors anywhere worldwide. Total attendance is estimated at 1,500 people. This is not an inflated figure using daily attendance and counting the same person multiple times; rather, it is a count of actual boardgamers in attendance. The BPA does not conduct events in Miniatures, Role Playing, Collectible Card Games or Computer Games. Contact Public Relations with questions about placing an ad in the WBC Program.

SPECIFICATIONS: Space sells only in full page increments with live matter of 5.25" x 8.25". Files may be delivered in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, .pdf, .eps, or .tiff electronic format. The program is black-and-white (though you may substitute a 4C ad for the online version of the program).

FEES: Covers 2 and 3 are $500. All other pages are $300, with positions assigned in the order received. No partial ads accepted. Payment and copy must be received at BPA, 7766 Valley View Court, Hickory, NC 28602 no later than June 1. The BPA reserves the right to reject any ad which it, in its sole discretion, deems offensive, non-compliant with the ad guidelines, or otherwise inappropriate. If an ad is rejected, any fees paid will be refunded.
