After an eleventh place finish in 2017 at his first WBC, Allan Jiang jumped to the top of the pack in his second year. Allan Jiang won his first Caesar award in style, topping his closest competitor by more than 50%.

His 254 laurel performance was third best all-time behind Stefan MeCay's 295 in 2009 and James Pei's 293 in 2004. Allan earned wins at WBC in Brass, Through the Ages, and Thurn & Taxis as well as a win in the Tzolkin Play-by-Email (PBeM) tournament. He supplemented these wins with three 2nd place finishes, a 3rd place finish, a 4th place finish, and two 6th place finishes.

His WBC total of 166 laurels beat all but one of his competitors for the Caesar award. Allan's 88 laurels in email tournaments was second to Haakon Monsen who leveraged two PBeM wins to vault from 18th place in consul to 2nd in the Caesar running.

Rounding out the top six BPA competitors for Nick Henning with his third consecutive 3rd place finish, James Pei who kept his top 25 streak alive, now at 11 straight years, Trella Bromley who became our first female in the top 6, and Chris Trimmer. For the second straight year, only nine of last year's Top 25 players managed to retain that top billing led by Caesar winner Allan Jiang. Others able to retain their Top 25 standing in 2018 were Nick Henning, James Pei, Keith Dent, Rich Meyer, Ewan McNay, Richard Beyma, Curt Collins II, and Ricky Boyes.
