Victory in Europe is back for its second year with two new tournament scenarios being offered: a France 1940 scenario and a Barbarossa, Invasion of the Soviet Union situation. France will be a four-card scenario and Barbarossa a three-card game. Each will play in about an hour. We will play three rounds of swiss and, depending on the number of players, advance the best two or four records to a semi or final showdown.

The first two games will use the France scenario and the third Barbarossa. If we play a semifinal, players will roll two dice and the highest roll will get to choose the scenario. The Final will be the 1943 scenario, or if both players agree, the 1939 Campaign game. The 1943 scenario takes about three hours and the campaign game can take six hours.

The France scenario is on Boardgamegeek.com under the "Files" section and the Barbarossa scenario will be posted no later than May. They will include easy to use setup charts. Visit: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/157521/victory-europe

The scenarios are well balanced, but if players have a preference for the side to play, both players will roll two dice and highest roll will start the bid for the number of commands they are willing to give their opponent on his first card play. This number will be added to the command value of the card and the combined total will be used to determine initiative on the first turn only. You can bid zero and your opponent can accept or raise it by any number desired until either player accepts the previous bid.

The game designer is running the tournament and welcomes new players to come and learn how to play.
