2019 Tournament Format Swiss Elim

We will again be featuring swiss elimination this year in lieu of a single elimination.

There will be swiss rounds out of which the top-8 players will advance to the single elimination quarter final round.

The First Sunday and Monday swiss rounds will represent the Saratoga campaign with round 1 being the Freeman's Farm scenario, round 2 the Battle of Oriskany and round 3 the "Next Day" scenario at Saratoga.

Our demo will be on Tuesday.

Wednesday's rounds will represent the Philadelphia campaign with round 4 being Howe's Flank Attack at Brandywine and round 5 the Battle of Germantown.

The single elimination quarterfinals and semifinals will feature the southern campaign. The quarterfinal will be Guilford Courthouse and the semifinal will be Eutaw Springs.

This year's final will be the Battle of Pensacola.

As is standard in Battles of the American Revolution tournaments, players will initially be seeded by AREA rating followed by accumulated tournament points. In all cases were tie breaks are needed they will be based on accumulated Army Morale points followed by Victory Points.

In the event of a "draw" occurring in the Single elimination rounds the player to advance will be the player with superior army morale in that battle, followed by most VPs.

Additional Prizes: 3rd place, Autographed artist's proof copy of a BoAR game box cover 2nd place, Big Board Games copy of Brandywine Creek (used) 1st place, shrink wrapped copy of GMT's BoAR tripack (Saratoga, Brandywine & Guilford/Eutaw).
