DUNKIRK: France 1940 makes its first appearance at WBC! Taking part this year as a Trial Event, Dunkirk: France 1940 places players in command of either the Allied or German forces in the spring of 1940. This block game makes use of a chit-pull mechanic to activate the fighting forces, which are organized in Formations.

At the start of the game, the German player secretly selects one of six Strategy Cards, each Card listing the objectives that must be obtained for German victory. In effect, the German player selects her/his own victory conditions, with the Allied player working hard to decipher those objectives and thwart the German effort. Play is also enhanced by a deck of Player Cards, one deck for each side; those cards introduce Reinforcements, Battle supports, and other Events into the game.

For our WBC tournament, we will run single-elimination rounds. Players will bid for sides, with the bid mechanic being how many (if any) additional German player cards at start a player desires in order to play the German side.

Beginning players are welcome! While this is not a coached event, per se, any beginning player will find many friendly Dunkirk players willing to help her/him learn the ropes!
