Command & Colors Medieval isa recent variation of the Commands & Colors system from GMT Games and is most similar to Commands & Colors Ancients. We will have a demo where the basic rules of the game will be discussed and will highlight the differences from the other C&C games You do not have to be familiar with the other games in the series to give this one a try.
The basic game focuses on battles between the Sassinid Persians and the Byzantine empire. The specific scenarios will be chosen by Memorial Day and all scenarios will be from the basic game. Please email the GM for the details. The scenarios and other details about the tournament will be posted on the tournament website: http://apps.lewisresearch.com/Medieval.html.
Please bring a copy of the game if you have it.
The tournament will be single elimination with a mulligan round. Each round will consist of one game.
We will do our best to select balanced scenarios, but players will bid on which side they want to play. Both players will roll all of the dice, and the player who rolls the most swords will bid first. We will be bidding additional Inspired Action tokens to be given to your opponent. Zero is a valid bid. When a player passes, they are awarded the number of Inspired Action tokens that were bid to add to the prespecified total for the scenario.
Winners of the mulligan round will automatically advance to Round 2. Players who lose in the mulligan round can play in Round 1 to have a second chance to advance to Round 2. Winners of the mulligan are welcome to participate in Round 1 to have some more fun and extra practice. The mulligan round and Round 1 will use the same battle.
If at any point there is an odd number of players for round, a player who has lost will be invited to play as an eliminator.
If only three people remain for the semifinal round, the highest ranked player (based on cumulative banners) will play an eliminator. The second and third ranked players will play. If the eliminator wins, the winner of the other match will be the champion. All other places will be determined based on round in which eliminated with cumulative banners (and then blocks) as the tiebreakers.
