Beginners are welcome! Sagrada is an easy game to learn and the event welcomes those new to the game. Please be familiar with the rules or attend the demo if you have never played before.

Game Description: In Sagrada, each player builds a stained glass window by placing colored dice on their 4 by 5 player board. Dice of the same shade or color may never be placed next to each other. Additionally, each board is unique and has restrictions on which color or shade (value) of die can be placed in certain spots. Each round, players draft two dice, which are drafted in player order via a serpentine draft, meaning the starting player each round picks the first and last die. The game lasts 10 rounds and the starting player rotates each round. Scoring occurs by fulfilling conditions on public objectives (3 are used each game, and available to all players) and 1 private objective (kept hidden and only available to that player). Players can spend tokens to use special tools that break placement rules or manipulate dice in various ways.

Event Format: There will be three heats, with the top 16 players advancing to the semifinals using the Heats Most Wins – Points standard tiebreakers. The semifinals will consist of 4 games, with the winner of each advancing to the finals.

Game Format: To ensure consistency for all players, only the base game of Sagrada will be played in all rounds. Players who bring their own copies of Sagrada should ensure all expansion content is set aside and not included in the set-up.

HEATS: MOST WINS - POINTS (HMW-P):Tie-breakers are:

  1. Most Wins (e.g., total in all heats entered)
  2. Most Second Places
  3. Fewest total points behind first place in second place finishes. Not playing in a heat counts as an N/A for this criteria, not 0 points
  4. Fewest total points behind first place in all finishes. Not playing in a heat counts as an N/A for this criteria, not 0 points
  5. Fewest Heats
  6. High dice roll.
