Scythe looks like a multiplayer wargame, but plays like a Euro. The game presents multiple paths to victory, and past WBC winners have employed strategies including never leaving their home areas to roaming the board in search of trouble.

In all rounds including heats, we will set up the board and player mats with all possible combinations allowed and deal two goal cards to each player. Players will then bid on which factions they want (Vegas Showdown style) in half-point increments. Bids will be deducted from player scores at the end of the game.

Heats will advance 25 to the semifinal using the Heats Most Wins – Points standard tiebreakers. Semifinal winners will advance to the Final

HEATS: MOST WINS - POINTS (HMW-P):Tie-breakers are:

  1. Most Wins (e.g., total in all heats entered)
  2. Most Second Places
  3. Fewest total points behind first place in second place finishes. Not playing in a heat counts as an N/A for this criteria, not 0 points
  4. Fewest total points behind first place in all finishes. Not playing in a heat counts as an N/A for this criteria, not 0 points
  5. Fewest Heats
  6. High dice roll.
