ASL Starter Kit Returns Yet Again

ASL Starter Kit #1 is a self-contained module which lets players start playing Advanced Squad Leader almost immediately. A liberally illustrated rules tutorial teaches gamers ASL using a conversational style to teach the concepts of the game.

Despite having lost Century status, ASL Starter Kit is still going strong. Past ASL champion and MMP guru Perry Cocke takes up the GM reigns once again to introduce a new crop of gamers to the game in a fast Single Elimination format with three-hour rounds. After random player pairings are made, one scenario per round is assigned from the scenarios in ASL Starter Kit #1 for rounds 1 and 2. For those first two rounds, nothing is needed beyond ASK Starter Kit #1, which contains relatively simple, infantry-only scenarios and is designed for the newcomer to ASL. Later rounds may contain Guns and AFV from ASLSK #2 or ASLSK#3.

Players mutually choose scenario sides; ties are broken randomly, with the loser getting the printed balance.

Demo provided Thursday evening 6:00 pm and by appointment at the MMP demonstration tables.

Additional Prizes: MMP merchandise certificates for 1st-4th place: $50-$30-$10-$10.
