Play in as many of preliminary round matches (heats) as desired. Drop in or out at any time (e.g., play in Round 1, skip Round 2, play in Round 3). Please inform the GM if dropping out permanently.

Scenarios will consist of those published in the MBT playbook as well as the playbooks of expansions FRG, BAOR, and 4CMBG. Additional scenarios of independent design will be available for play at the participants’ choice.

Basic and Advanced rules will be used. Ignore Air Phase and Indirect Fire related rules. They are not used in the tournament scenarios.

Optional rules in play:

  • ATGMs: Track the usage of ATGM ammunition rather than rolling for Ammo Limits (5.16). If a scenario limits the # of ATGM shots in the Setup, ignore the 2nd paragraph of 5.16.2.3.
  • 7.5 Staggered Initiative (at the request of either player)
  • 7.8 Turrets

Tournament Victory Points:

  • For each of the first three rounds in which a player competes earns the participant 1 VP
  • A Tactical Victory scores 4 VPs (VP difference exceeds VP Margin)
  • A Marginal Victory scores 2 VP (VPs greater than opponents, but < VP Margin)
  • A Marginal Loss scores 1 VP (VPs less than opponents, but difference not > VP Margin)

The two players with the highest point totals proceed to the Final.

  • Tiebreakers for advancement to the final, in priority order:
    1. Head-to-Head play
    2. Most preliminary rounds played
    3. Most Tactical Victories
    4. Most Marginal Victories
    5. Competitive die roll
