Attention all Ben-Hur wannabes! The emperor is calling for you. Join us around Jake Jacoby’s oversized tracks and 15mm miniatures for the most gaming fun you can have. If you don’t know how to play, we will teach you as you play. If you want a more detailed rules demo, show up an hour early before any heat.

Circus Maximus is the classic game of Roman Chariot Racing. Each player gets to build his/her chariot by simply selecting from 4 categories. These are Driver modifier (0, +1, or +2), Car Type (Light, Normal, or Heavy), Team Speed (Slow, Normal, or Fast) and Team Endurance (Low, Medium, or High). You can build a runner, a thumper, or anything in-between. You can whip drivers, whip horses, ram chariots, ram horses, and/or just plain race. By the 3rd lap there will usually be several wrecked chariots on the track so the chariot that crosses the finish line first will have earned its win.

Each Heat will consist of as many 7-9 player tracks as needed using Jake Jacoby’s oversized tracks and 15mm miniatures. Players will be distributed as evenly as possible.

Key Tournament Rules

Advancement will be determined by the Heats Most Wins-Points Standard Tie-breakers with a GM specific tiebreaker listed below. All players with at least 1000 points will advance to the Final. However, if more than 12 players show up for the Final, there will be a 2-4 track Semifinal with the top 20-50% in each race advancing to the Final. If this Semifinal round happens, any player with 2,000 or more points will be given a bye to automatically advance to the Final.
