Join other would-be Alexanders, Cleopatras, Caesars and Napoleons, as we try to lead our empires to glory!

Played over 7 Epochs (turns), players expand their territory with Risk-like mechanics. Unlike Risk, there is no player elimination as each Epoch a player guides a new Empire each time. Points are scored for territory controlled (values of areas change over time) as well as capitals and monuments. The version of the game used in the event is the Hasbro edition (2001). The Z-man version (2018) will not be used. NOTE: Set-up Rule - Games in 2024 will continue to have Major Events dealt such that each card stack contains one, and only one, Minor Empire.

A brief demo will be scheduled for new players. If you have only played the Avalon Hill version, please stop by the demo to learn the differences. This game is scheduled for 6 hours, a LONG game, many are completed early; however, occasionally a game will run longer. All players are expected to complete the game they start. Please alert the GM or Assistant GMs to repeated slow play so that measures might be taken.

The top 18 players will advance to the Semifinal (provided 36 or more entrants) based on the Heats Most Wins – Points Standard Tie-breakers, listed below, which advantages players playing in multiple Heats. Be sure to check the event kiosk after the Heats have concluded to find the rankings for advancement to the Semifinal. Also, if you are not in the top 18 listed on the kiosk you may still be eligible for play in the Semifinal if a player (or players) above you in the rankings chooses not to continue. Come prior to the start of the Semifinal to see if a slot has opened.

For the Finals, non-winners in the Semifinal are ranked based upon their score in their game as a percentage of the game winning score. For example, if the winning score for a game is 200 and your score is 190, then your percentage would be 95. The three semifinal winners move on along with the top three non-winning Semifinalists based again upon their score as a percentage of their individual semifinal game winning score.

Please bring a copy of the game if you are driving! We know that it is a rather large and heavy item, but we are always on the edge of not having enough copies for the number of participants wanting to play. It would be unfortunate if players were unable to compete due to a lack of games. If you have any questions or comments concerning the game or the event, please feel free to contact me at the email address above.
