“Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.”

Forget Jedi. Forget the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire’s struggle over the political future of the galaxy. In the Outer Rim, the only thing that talks louder than credits is the muzzle of a blaster. You and your opponents will race to smuggle cargo, perform heists, and collect bounties as you navigate the hyperspace lanes that tenuously connect the Outer Rim systems. Along the way, you will juggle relationships with four galactic powers, upgrade your ship, and generally make a name for yourself as the greatest scoundrel in the galaxy. Can you amass fame and fortune faster than your opponents?

The tournament will be 3- or 4-player games based on the number attending each heat. Three Heats will advance the Top 16 to the Semifinal based on the Heats Most Wins – Timing standard tiebreakers shown below. Winners of the Semifinal will advance to the Final.

The Unfinished Business expansion (released in 2022) will be the default unless there aren’t enough copies. Games using the expansion will use the Core Worlds tiles, the orange contact tokens, all player characters ( other than the four mentioned below ) , and all market and encounter cards. “Favors” and “Ambitions” will not be used.

Based on results from past events, the following four characters will be removed from the pool before selecting: Han Solo, Jyn Erso, Lando Calrissian, Dr. Aphra. These four characters won a disproportionate number of games and in the interest of variety and balance the other characters will be used. If all players at the table wish, these characters can remain in the pool and character selection is done as per the standard rules.

Otherwise, the default will be player order will be determined as normal (whoever rolls the most hits goes first) . All four players will then each randomly draw two cards and the in player order, reveal the character they have chosen.

All games will be played to 10 Fame to determine the winner. Should there be a tie in a Heat; first tie breaker will be cash on hand. Second tie breaker will be reverse turn order (so fourth player would win vs third player in a tie) .
