Swiss Rounds:

Each participant will play in 3 Swiss rounds. For the first round, players will be paired randomly. For rounds 2 and 3, players will be paired with an opponent who has the same record as them, to the extent possible.

Before each swiss game, each player draws a random number from the deck. The high drawer elects to either play first or chooses which side to play.

The Swiss scenarios are as follows:

  • Swiss Round 1: Scenario D – Falklands
    • British: Swiftsure
    • Argentine: Salta
    • Reinforcement: San Luis
  • Swiss Round 2: Scenario B - Search and Destroy
    • NATO: Virginia, Simpson
    • Soviets: Molniya, Skvortsov
    • ,/ul>
    • Swiss Round 3: Scenario A - Sub Duel
      • NATO: Valiant, Swiftsure (Sensor Malfunction level 1)
      • Soviets: Ivan Rogov, Skvortsov

    Advancement to Single Elimination

The top 8 ranked players after the Swiss rounds will advance to the quarterfinal. Players will be ranked by the following tiebreakers:

    1. Win/Loss record
    2. Win with Soviets in Scenario A (Rd 3)
    3. Win with Soviets in Scenario B (Rd 2)
    4. Win with Argentines in Scenario D (Rd 1)
    5. Win with NATO in Scenario A (Rd 3)
    6. Win with NATO in Scenario B (Rd 2)
    7. Win with British in Scenario D (Rd 1)
    8. Strength of Schedule (Higher number of opponent wins)
    9. High die roll

    Miscellaneous

Here are a few clarifications to common questions:

    • Passive Sonar may NOT be used to increase contact against a surface fleet when the surface fleet uses a weapon lockon
    • ∙ If multiple weapon lockons are used as one action, one reactive card may be played for each weapon lockon card played (a ship could use multiple evasive actions)
    • Only 1 ship from a surface fleet may respond to an active sonar from a sub
    • If playing a C/OR for a surface fleet as a reactive card, a helicopter check is still required

    Helicopter Checks

    • Immediately drawn at end of Sensor Check or Attack operation
    • At the end of that player turn, if one or more Helicopter cards drawn as RN played C/OR in your or your opponent’s turn

    Single Elimination Rounds

Standard single elimination format, Ex. 1st seed plays 8th seed, 4th seed plays 5th seed, winner of 1v8 plays winner of 4v5.

Before each Single Elimination game, each player draws a random number from the deck. The high drawer elects to either play first and chooses the scenario or chooses which side to play.

The 5 scenarios available for play in the Single Elimination Rounds are:

    • Scenarios A, B, and D which were played in the Swiss rounds
    • Scenario E: Rebel Without A Cause (Renegade win with RN less than OR equal to deck number starting deck 2) Draw for win allowed even if Open Range cancelled
      • Renegade: Oppokov
      • Soviets: Rovnostnyy, Simferopol
      • Reinforcement: Udaloy
    • Scenario H: Boomer (Soviets win with RN less than OR equal to deck number starting deck 2) Draw for win NOT allowed if Open Range cancelled
      • Soviets: Zarnitsa, Ivan Rogov
      • NATO: Los Angeles
      • Reinforcement: Asheville
