The 2026 tournament will head to Britainnia as the Romans seek to exert their influence. Bring a base game and/or expansion 2 if you have it. If not, come anyway as pieces will still be provided for you to compete in the tournament.

Before the start of the Swiss Rounds, players will be randomly assigned to play either Rome or Britons for all Swiss Rounds. You will not switch sides during these rounds and only play the side assigned.

The top two players from the Roman side, along with the top two players from the Britons side, will advance to the Semifinal. The Semifinal and Final will be single elimination where players will be playing both sides of the map.

Standings will be formulated after each round to determine matchups for the following round. Avoiding opponents you have already played, the top player from the Roman side will play the top player from the Britons side, and so on. Semifinal will see the top ranked Roman play against the second ranked Roman and the top ranked Briton play against the second ranked Briton. Winners from those matches will meet in the Final.

Tiebreakers for the Swiss Rounds will be determined as follows:

  1. Banners won
  2. Figures lost (lower is better)
  3. Number of wins as a commander for Swiss Rounds 1-4
  4. Tied Commanders roll 6 dice and the most leader symbols rolled is the winner

Tiebreakers for the Semifinal and Final will be determined as follows:

  1. Games won
  2. Banners won
  3. Figures lost differential for the match
  4. Each side rolls 6 dice and the most leader symbols rolled is the winner

Tentative schedule of scenarios of Romans v. Britons, subject to change:

  • Swiss Round 1: Medway
  • Swiss Round 2: Cefn Carnedd
  • Swiss Round 3: Camulodunum
  • Swiss Round 4: Boudica's Revolt
  • Semifinal: Mona Insulis
  • Final: Mons Graupius

Additional Prizes: Additional Prizes will be provided by the publisher, GMT, for plaque winners.
