Please check in with the GM prior to each Heat you play. Arrive early if possible and bring copies of the game if you have them. Tables and seats will be randomly assigned for the three Heats. Promptly contact the GM if you are seated with a teammate in your team game, a family member, or if you have any other issue. Four-player games are preferred, but some three-player games may be required depending on the numbers attending. Please complete the tournament scoresheet with your name and badge # when you have time during the game. Game winners are responsible for turning in a completed table scoresheet to the GM when the game is over. Any games not finished by 15 minutes prior to the start of the next round will be halted at the end of the last player’s turn and adjudicated as finished by the GM. Any ties for first place will be resolved in reverse player order by the GM.

Returning This Year: All tables will be playing with the same setup. For each round the board setup will be handed out to the game owners at the same time that the seat assignments are handed out.

Also returning will be the opportunity to win a color of your choice of Catan player pieces. Here’s how: 1. Win. 2. Be loyal. 3. Be a great sport. Details will be posted at the event and online. The Ruler of Catan, the tournament winner, will also win a customized reward

Semifinal & Final

Advancement to the Semifinal will be determined by the Heats Most Wins – Points standard tie-breakers listed below.

Players will be placed at the Semifinal tables by their rank (skipping anyone that does not show up for the final), with players choosing their chair, color and play order in ranking order as follows:

• Table 1 - #1,8,9,16
• Table 2 - #2,7,10,15
• Table 3 - #3,6,11,14
• Table 4 - #4,5,12,13

After the game board layout is confirmed, the player in the first selection position selects their chair, then color, then play order. Then, the person in second position selects their color, then play order, followed by third and fourth. All players should sit in chairs matching their selected play order.

Semifinal winners advance to the Final. Ties for places other than first in the final are resolved by the ranking coming into the Semifinal. Fifth and sixth place in the tournament are determined by the highest second-place scores in the Semifinal, then by ranking coming into the Semifinal.

HEATS: MOST WINS - POINTS (HMW-P):

1. Most Wins (e.g., total in all heats entered)
2. Total Points – Players earn the following pints in each heat they entered:
   • 1st Place - 1,000 points
   • 2nd Place - 100 points
   • 3rd Place - 10 points
   • 4th Place - 1 points
   • All other places - 0 points
   • e.g. player has a 1st, 2nd, and 4th in three heats: total points would be 1,101
3. GM Specific Tie-breaker:
   1. Total Number of Points in previous rounds
   2. Percentage of total points earned
4. High dice roll.
