Don't win your first Heat, not problem try again!

Each heat will be a 3-hand/100 point limit allowing more games to go to 100 points. If the 100-point limit has not been reached, the third hand will only be started if 30 minutes or more remains. The time limit will be strictly enforced, and any delaying tactics will be considered during adjudication to the detriment of the foot draggers and may trigger actions to improve the play speed of the table. such as reducing size of draw deck by random removal of cards.

If points are tied, tie-breakers will be:

1. Most ships taken (sunk + prizes)
2. Most Prizes
3. Die roll

Only winners of a Heat advance to the Semifinal. Every Heat winner of a game may advance. The only limit on the number of winners that can be accommodated is only halfthe total entrants can advance per WBC rules.. No alternates of runner-ups will be allowed. The Semifinal will include all heat winners who appear. If 8 or less qualify or show up for Semifinal, it will be skipped and immediately proceed to Final. Semifinal and Final will play to 100 points regardless of the number of hands. All players in the Semifinal will participate until the end or until they remove themselves. The Semifinal may therefore be a long affair if many qualifiers contest the title.
