The Railways of the World game series consists of several boards depicting various regions of the world. The base game is set in the eastern United States, but there are also maps of the western US, Europe, Mexico, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan in the series, among others. All of them task players with building track tiles on a hex map, delivering goods cubes to cities designated to accept them, and increasing their companies’ capacity for delivery by upgrading trains. The player with the most victory points (accumulated principally by delivering goods cubes) is the winner. Games typically consist of 3 to 6 players, with the smaller maps more suited to fewer players, and generally take 2 to 3 hours.

The tournament will consist of Heats with the preliminary Heat winners, and any alternates needed to fill 16 slots, qualifying for the Semifinal round. Qualificaton for the Semifinal will be based on the Heats Most Wins – Points standard tie-breakers listed below.

The Semifinal winners will advance to the Final. Players will be randomly assigned to games, based on which board they choose to play (subject to availability). In the Semifinal and Final rounds, the GM will have the final say on which board is played, if the players cannot agree.

HEATS: MOST WINS - POINTS (HMW-P):

    • All other places - 0 points
    • e.g. player has a 1st, 2nd, and 4th in three heats: total points would be 1,101
  3. GM Specific Tie-breaker:
    1. Most wins
    2. Highest win percentage
    3. Most 2nd place finishes
    4. Highest percentage of winning total
  4. High dice roll.
