Beginners are welcome! Sagrada is an easy game to learn and the event welcomes those new to the game. Please be familiar with the rules or attend the demo if you have never played before.
Game Description: In Sagrada, each player builds a stained glass window by placing colored dice on their 4 by 5 player board. Dice of the same value or color may never be placed orthogonally adjacent to each other. Additionally, each board is unique and has restrictions on the color or value of a die that can be placed in certain spots. Each round, players draft two dice in a serpentine format, meaning the starting player each round picks the first and last die. The game lasts 10 rounds and the starting player rotates each round. Scoring occurs by fulfilling conditions on public objectives (3 are used each game) and 1 private objective (unique for each player). Players can spend tokens to use tools that break placement rules or manipulate dice in various ways.
Event Format: The top 16 players will advance to the Semifinal. Advancement will be based on the Heats Most Wins – Points standard tie-breakers listed below with GM specific tie-breakers. The Semifinal will consist of 4 games, with the winner of each advancing to the Final.
Advancing to the Semifinal: This should serve as a guide only, as entrant numbers and specific results vary each year. In 2025, players needed at least 1,110 points (i.e. a First, Second, and Third place) to be in contention for a top 16 spot.

Speed of Play A full game of Sagrada should easily be completed in under an hour. That said, this is a game that is prone to analysis paralysis in certain situations. Players should inform their table prior to starting the game if they have a commitment immediately following the heat. In that situation, players should work together to ensure the speed of play is appropriate. If the game appears to be progressing slower than expected, the GM should be notified as soon as possible. A time clock will be instituted, as necessary, based on the GM’s assessment.
HEATS: MOST WINS - POINTS (HMW-P):

- 3rd Place - 10 points
