The Tides of History ...

The Hasbro "yellow box" edition (2001) will be used.

The event format consists of two heats advancing the top 18 players to the semifinals.
The 18 semifinalists will be determined in this order:
1. Most wins
2. Best (non-win) place
3. Fewest VPs behind the next-highest place
4. Fewest VPs behind that game's winner
5. Most VPs
6. Fewest total Major Empire SPs
If someone plays in both heats, the player's single-best non-win game will be used to determine advancement.
Note that this is a change from past years; "percentage of the winner's score" is no longer used.

The top two from each semifinal will advance to the Final.  This is also a change from past years.

Be sure to check the event kiosk located in the Paradise Terrace area after the heats have concluded to find out the rankings for advancement to the semifinals. Also, if you aren't in the top 18 players as listed on the kiosk you may still be eligible for play in the semifinals in the (all too likely) event a player (or players) above you in the rankings chooses not to continue. Appear prior to the start of the semifinal round to see if a slot is available.

Please bring a copy of the game if you can!  If there are not enough copies to fit everyone, including in the semifinals, then priority will be given to players who make their copies of the game available.
