ROLL THE BONES... THEN... UP THE
STAKES
Description: Did you forget a rule in ASL? Was your
game of Settlers unsettling? Were you backstabbed in Diplomacy?
Do you want to roll more dice than you can imagine? Do you want
to lie and deceive your friends? How about taunting them when
they lose? Maybe with the "na, na, kiss him goodbye"
song? Would you like to smash big cups on tables to get out the
frustration of a tough week of gaming? DO you want revenge? Do
you like gambling and having a wild and fun time?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then Liar's
Dice is the game for you! Come out Friday at 11:00 pm and
enjoy the newest of the "late night" party events.
Some people know this game as Liar's Dice. Others call
it Bluff, Call My Bluff, or Perudo. Whatever, it
is the ultimate game of lying and deception. Are you ready to
roll those bones and press your luck?
Liar's Dice is an exciting family game that combines
elements of Yahtzee, Poker, Craps, and many other games
of skill. Your object is to be the last person to have dice remaining.
Do you have the nerves of steel it will take to outwit, outplay
and outlast your opponents and become the ultimate survivor (ooops...wrong
game).
We will be using standard 6-player games (with some 5-player
games based on an odd number of entrants). Pairing will be randomly
assigned with all winners (and possibly some second place finishers)
advancing to a 36-player semi-final round and then a final round
(possibly with huge cups and dice...working on that).
All basic rules will be used. A quick description of those
rules will be explained at 11:00 for all who need to be refreshed
(or taught). In addition to the basic rules...the following variants
will be used...
1. If the bid is exact...then everyone but the bidder loses
a die.
2. You cannot lose your last die except as part of a direct
challenge (note this supercedes variant #1).
Most important of all is to have fun! I expect to hear lots
of rattling, smashing and singing! The highlights of the evening
include a reading of the rules and a full attendee rendition
of the "na, na, kiss him goodbye" song when Don loses
his last die!
Those two things alone should be enough to entice everyone to
attend this event :) I want everyone to have a great time and
see what the spirit of the WBC is all about!
Jason will also GM a Juniors version of the game Thursday morning
at 9 AM in Cornwall for those 12 and under. See http://www.boardgamers.org/yearbook/jnrpge.htm
