Midnight Madness in the Colosseum

The big news this year is the return of a fourth heat to the Colosseum - sorta. The new entry is a Midnight Madness special Demolition Derby with up to 50 charioteers having at it on a single, gigantic board. Not recommended for the squeamish. Enter light chariots at your own risk. This is a target rich environment and mayhem will be the order of the day, er night. 50 may enter but only one will leave with a ticket to the Final.

Lash your way to victory in classic Ben Hur style or body surf across the finish line. Works either way. Take your choice. This is horse racing with an attitude from the days when men were men and horses were dogfood candidates. Let your opponent kiss the wall, lash his horses and introduce him to your sharp stainless steel hubcabs.

The other three Heats and the Final will be run using traditional Circus Maximus rules. There will be 15mm miniature horses and chariots for up to seven large tracks. The Heats will consist of up to seven races each, with nine drivers per table and only the winners advancing. Should more players attend any Heat than can be accomodated on seven boards, preference will be given to those who have not yet played in a Heat.

A copy of the most commonly asked questions and rulings is available to anyone who writes to the GM in advance. The rulings will also be available at every heat to any participant.

Bill Beckman will also GM a Juniors version of the game Saturday afternoon at 3 PM in Heritage for those 12 and under.
