WBC Campaign 2009 moves to the
Bulge
The format for Memoir '44 will be a projected six rounds,
Single Elimination with a Mulligan Round. The Mulligan Round
will be from 9 PM to 11 PM on Thursday and the Demo will precede
the Mulligan Round at 8 PM. Winners of this round are excused
from Round 1 the next day and can rejoin the event in Round 2
at 11 AM Friday. Losers of the Mulligan Round can rejoin the
event fresh in Round 1 at 9 AM Friday. The tournament will then
run continuously for the rest of Friday. Based on the estimated
number of players, there will probably be six Single Elimination
rounds. In each round players play twice against each other,
switching sides. Best total medal count for both games wins the
match. In the case of a tie, the player who inflicts the most
casualties on his opponent wins. A final tie breaker will be
drawn at random upon registering for the tournament, with players
who bring games being rewarded with higher tie breaker numbers.
The theme for this year's tournament will be the Battle of the
Bulge. We will be playing with scenarios from the Air Pack expansion
& the Xmas '07 Scenario Baraque de Fraiture, but the Air
Rules will only be in effect in the 6th round.
All of the scenarios are designed to use the Winter/Desert
board and Eastern Front terrain pieces but may be played with
the basic Memoir '44 board and terrain. The mountains used
in the St. Vith scenario are from the Terrain expansion packs,
but these hexes are impassable.and, therefore, these hexes may
be indicated by using markers during set-up if you do not own
the terrain pack.
1st Round - Twin Villages(Western Front 26)
2nd Round - St. Vith (Western Front 27)
3rd Round - Baraque de Fraiture (Xmas '07 Scenario)
4th Round - Relief of Peiper (Western Front 28)
5th Round - Bastogne Corridor West (Western Front 29)
6th Round - Bastogne Corridor East (Western Front 30) - Air Rules
All Scenarios, except Baraque de Fraiture, are versions published
as part of the Air Pack Expansion.
