Nels Thompson and Chris Byrd, a couple WBC sharks with many titles each, are just a few of the "power" players among the field of the "grown up junior event".	Finalists Nick Page and Tom Parauda battle for the title "on the rim of the volcano" in a warmish Lampeter room that did not deter a record field.
Stratego in the land of the hobbits? Long a Juniors room event, the game graduated with many of its players to the older set, but the kids circled like vultures to see how their champion would fare against the winner.	Nathan Cantwell, the newly crowned Juniors champ, gets his moment of truth against the wily big people champ from the land of Canada. Although history does not record the winner of this meeting it was doubtless a ferocious affair.

Although the event otherwise qualified for the Century group this year for the first time, it lost that status due to GM failure to submit the required event report.

The juniors have been playing this game for years now at WBC and many of them look forward to the event as the highlight of their week in the junior room. This year was no exception with 22 hobbits from the 12 and under set trying their hand to win the coveted junior plaque. Nathan Cantwell became the Juniors champion of the Shire and also got to challenge the adult champion, Nick Page, as a consequence. Unfortunately, we have no report on how he fared against the big people champ. The other top juniors were Luke Morris, Tim Tu, Olivia Gambill, Aidan Powers and Zach Correlra who finished 2nd - 6th respectively.
