A Jousting we will go ...
Ivanhoe had tough sledding
in its debut at WBC when its scheduled GM, Frank Hamrick, suffered
a heart attack the Monday before the convention. While able to
recover sufficiently to attend later in the week, his friends
assumed the GM chores without any preparation and consequently
we have no report submitted for this particular event.
Suffice it to say that the show must go on and we appreciate
the efforts of those who stepped in to replace Frank at the last
minute and look forward to his less eventful return next season.
As for the tournament we know only that it was step two in young
Rebecca Hebner's record setting grand slam performance which
saw her claim four plaques.
Speaking
of young, Alex Henning proved the best of 13 young knights and
ladies contesting Ivanhoe Junior. Rebekah Broh-Kahn took second
and Natalie Beach and Shea Lawson tied for third.
