Closest Finish For 7 Wonders Finals

Andrew Emerick, Andrew Freeman, Katie Gray, and Steve LeWinter survived the field 105 players playing 74 games to advance to the Finals.

In the first game of the finals, a fortunate distribution of Military cards and several blue cards helped Andrew E.. A lack of access to Brick hindered Steve's game. Katie struggled with money with Andrew E. and Steve possessing money back and forth with the treating posts. Andrew F. had 22 points on 3 Guilds but came up short on Andrew E. military. Andrew F. did claim second place by a well-timed lighthouse.

The final scores for the first game were: 4th Place Katie playing Halicarnassus Scoring 47 points, 3rd place Steve playing Rhodes 52 points, 2nd place Andrew F. playing Alexandria with 55 points, and 1st place Andrew E. playing Ephesos with 61 points.

With the most wins to determine the victor and the most seconds to break that tie. It was decided before the first game that the third tiebreaker would be total points since no one wanted to do the math to determine the percentage of points of the winner for each game for each player.

In the second game, Andrew E. was determined to stop Andrew F. from getting the win in the second game. Meanwhile, all the other players were determined to stop Andrew E..

In the second game of the finals, Katie received her full 20 points for Gaza but came up short in military which ended up costing her. Steve won all his military points and respectable points from several of the other categories. Although he was hindered by Andrew E., Andrew F. was most hurt by not finding the guilds he was looking for in the last age. Andrew E. was not paid any money from any of the other players the entire game. He did manage to take five points away from Kate by playing a last-minute military card.

The final scores for the 2nd game were: In a true tie for 3rd place Andrew E. playing Ephesos and Katie playing Giza with 46 points and an identical coin count. Just managing second was Andrew F. playing Alexandria with 47 points. and the winner of the second game was Steve, playing Rhodos, with 54 points.

This leaves Andrew E. and Steve each with one win and no seconds going to the second tiebreaker total points making this our closest Seven Wonders tournament yet, giving Andrew E. the win with 107 points to Steve's 106 points. Next, our first tiebreaker comes into effect giving Andrew F. 3rd place with 2 Seconds.
