Veni, Vidi, Vendidi!

Event Summary:

Thank you everyone for playing this year. This year both Heats were on the same day with 2 hours working well. Looking for input if players would like to see Venus as an option. Thank you for everyone who brough a copy of the game.

Heats:

Heat 1 had 56 players for 15 tables. We had enough players for 2 Venus tables.

Heat 2 had 32 players for 8 tables. One of the tables played Venus.

Semifinal

We had 21 players with at least 1 win. When it came to close the field, we had 16 winners checked in. We only had 2 double winners this year. Table one Allen Jang dominated win Jupiter. Table two Michael Swinson took the Saturn route. Table three Christian Wen was very balanced between Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury. Table four Brandon Bernard killed it with Mars. Andrew Emerick and Jonathan Mattanah had the closest 2nds by percentage of winner’s score to land 5th and 6th.

Final

Micheal plays in the Final again after winning last year. Chirstian, Allan, and Brandon were all first-time finalists. Christian opens with wine/brick in Umbria. Allan also plays architect to save the diplomat and opens with cloth/brick, but they were split Sicily Campana. Brandon plays tribune to build an extra colonist. Then follows with a cloth/brick combo, but 3 spaces away. Micheal tries to piggyback off Allen and opens Wine/Brick but the same provinces Allen went to. By the middle game Allen added wine/food from Corsica. Brandon added tool/food from Venetia. Micheal rounded the boot to add food and brick. Chistian stayed with first 2 in Umbria. Brandon triggered the end of the game, buying the final card. Christian dominated the Saturn scoring. Allen was focused on Jupiter and Mercury. Brandon was collecting Mars but couldn’t get his last 2 colonists. Micheal went with the 3 Minerva cards (brick/food/tool).
