The 2025 Adel Verpflichtet tournament brought 58 art collectors, thieves, and detectives together to find out who among them would be crowned champion! Six participants performed flawlessly with a perfect ten (first place in both games played in a single heat); Allan Jiang, Winton Lemoine, Tim Packwood, Eliav Hochboim, Harold Henning and Linsey Saccenti. A full 25 player Semifinal saw the winner from each table advance to the Final.
Finalists John Pack, Cally Perry, Tim Packwood, Allan Jiang, and Haim Hochboim were swift to advance around the track. Only one turn each was wasted on a ‘detective convention’ (when all players in the castle played a detective card) and the more rarely seen ‘thieves convention’ (all castle players played thieves) on turns three and four, respectively. Interestingly the jail cells remained empty until a third of the way through the game when on turn eight Cally Perry’s cunning detective caught both thieves sent by Haim Hochboim and Allen Jiang.
By turn 16 the finish line was in John Pack’s sight, followed closely by Allen Jiang. Turn 18 saw all three castle goers compete for best exhibit and Allen Jiang solidified his lead. Over the next three turns, mostly spent in the castle, Allen Jiang surpassed the rest, taking second place in the exhibit shown before crossing the finish line. During the final showing Tim Packwood was victorious with 11 cards in set, but 8 spaces was not enough to catch up to Allen Jiang who scored second moving another 4 spaces for a total of 8 spaces past the finish line.
Congratulations to Allen Jiang the Adel Verpflichtet 2025 champion!
