Stone Age (STA) WBC 2025 Event Report
Updated November 9, 2025
117 Players Martin, Chad Event History
2025 Champion & Laurels

Martin Fourth Consecutive Final Leads To Championship!

Stone Age had 117 players, up from 110 last year, with an average of 16 tables per Heat and produced 36 unique winners. The three Heats produced 2 triple winners (Haim Hochboim and Lumin Sperling), 9 double winners, 14 winners with one Heat win plus another placement, and 11 one Heat winners. Ten players received a bye directly into the Semifinal leaving 24 players to play in the Quarterfinal.

Preston Saccenti, Itamar Hochboim, Chad Martin (final table for the fourth consecutive year), and his son Andrew Martin made it through the Semifinal to make Final. This is the first time a father and son have made the Final table of Stone Age since 2016 when Scott Saccenti and his son Donte did so.

The opening card draw for the Final was uneventful. The bidding followed as uneventful with Andrew paying 0.5 points for 1st player, Chad paying 2 points for 2nd player, and Itamar and Preston settling for 3rd and 4th player respectively at no cost.

Dice rolls in the beginning of the game were very strong for Itamar and very poor for Preston. Though the start was slow for Preston he made his way back very mightily throughout the middle and end game. The game was fairly balanced throughout.

Andrew focused on meeples and huts leading to the advantage on pre-civ card score.

Chad focused on agriculture level.

Itamar sacrificed opportunities for tools/agriculture in favor of culture civ cards.

Preston focused on tools.

The final dice bar roll of the game, from Preston, rolling a 6,6,6,3, would prove to be game changing as it provided Chad with an additional agriculture level which multiplied by his 6 multipliers gave him the 6 points he would need to win the game!
