Freeman Fourth Winner In Four Years of Wingspan!

There were 178 players and a total of 103 games played. The four power birds were removed again this year. After the three Heats, we had 46 players play in the Quarterfinal before moving on to the Semifinal.

Due to a miscalculation on the GM’s part the Final had five players at the table. This year’s Final brought together five skilled players: Chad Martin, Jack Munson, Andrew Freeman, Gwen Yeager, and Sam Wolff. The competition was tight, with all players showcasing strategic play from the opening round. During the setup, Jack kept one bird, Gwen kept two birds, Andrew and Sam kept 3 birds, and Chad kept 4 birds.

Round One

The first-round goal was total birds played. Players began by developing their boards with balanced strategies of food-gathering and early bird placement. Chad led the round, taking the top spot, while Sam and Andrew followed closely behind. Jack and Gwen trailed but kept themselves in contention.

Round Two

The second-round goal focused on cup nests with eggs. This round shifted toward laying eggs and optimizing habitats. Sam shined here, winning the round, with Andrew close behind. Gwen maintained solid mid-table performance, while Chad and Jack tied for the bottom this round.

Round Three

The goal for round three was eggs in the meadow. This round turned the game into a high-efficiency egg-laying race. Chad surged to the front, taking first place with a strong egg-laying and tucking engine. Andrew and Jack also positioned themselves well, while Gwen and Sam shared fourth place.

Round Four

The final round goal was platform nests with eggs. By now, players had fully developed their engines. Andrew dominated the round, laying and tucking with precision, while Sam and Jack tied for second. Chad and Gwen rounded out the table.

Final Results

When the scores were tallied, Andrew secured first place with a strong combination of tucked cards and round-goal performance. Chad took second place, while Jack came in third. Sam and Gwen rounded out the table in fourth and fifth, respectively.
