Did I say Axis? Oops! ...
The tournament format will be multiple-heat/single elimination.
This means that you may play in as many of the four preliminary
heats as you wish. Each will consist of as many individual games
as necessary to accommodate all comers. Five-player games will
be the norm, but I will make adjustments in order to accommodate
everyone. For example, if 18 people come to a heat, rather than
three 5-player games and one 3-player game, I would set up two
five- and two four-player games. Basically I will avoid more
than six and fewer than four players in any game.
Everyone that wins a game in the preliminary heats will be
eligible to participate in Round 2 on Sunday. There will be an
elimination round followed by either a semi-final or a final
depending on how many people participate. I will again try to
stick to five player games, but I will be more inclined to increase
to six if by doing so I can avoid the need for a semi-final since
it is on Sunday and people are heading home.
The standard game rules as well as all optionals will be used.
Pay particular attention to the rule regarding sharing of spoils.
I do intend to play in the tournament (I know, boo...hiss...)
since I enjoy the game so much. I will have two assistant GM's
to help me out.
