Lions and tigers and dinosaurs,
oh my!
You are exploring a lost world plateau. This is no ordinary
expedition. This world is dominated by dinosaurs and populated
by apemen. The only safe place to be is in camp but that won't
get you home. You must collect specimens to gain victory points.
Before you can leave you have to find some way to safely exit
the plateau. Unexplored sites in which to gain specimens abound,
but the more you discover the more dangerous your expedition
becomes. Ammunition for your rifle is limited and once its gone
all you can do is run for your life. Befriending the Indians
or the Apemen may gain allies but the way to their village is
barred by dangerous events. It is time to take a chance and explore.
This was only a juniors tournament when AVALONCON began. The
challenge was brought up to normal tournament status
just four years ago. The best of the former juniors competitors,
including myself, have been ready to take on the adults ever
since. So far the parents have not been able to keep the Dinosaurs
of the Lost World younger champs out of the finals. If you think
that this is a kids game, try your hand against these juniors
graduates. It may be more challenge than you can handle.
This is a B tournament and there is plenty of time to learn the
game before the competition. Newcomers have been known to make
it to the finals (Beginners luck or just the skillful GM instruction?)
Even if you get off to a bad start you will be having fun. Attacking
other players with dinosaurs, what can be more fun than that?
It is an adventure for the young and old alike.
