Introduction
This Privacy Policy outlines the practices of The Boardgame Players Association (“BPA”) regarding the collection, use, and protection of personal information of our members. As a 501(c)(7) nonprofit social club, we are committed to safeguarding the privacy of our members and ensuring transparency in how we handle personal data.

Types of Data Collected:
The BPA Collects personal information necessary for its administration, to keep accurate records of its members and their status and participation in club sponsored activities including the World Boardgaming Championships, and communication with its members. This information includes names, email addresses, and city, state and country of members and payment information if payment is made by check. The BPA does not collect credit card or other electronic payment information. The BPA uses PayPal for credit card and other electronic payment information. The BPA collects this information directly from its members through membership registrations, event registrations and other BPA related interactions. The BPA also collects information automatically through its website and online platforms, including cookies and similar technologies.

The BPA uses personal data provided by members to manage and maintain membership records, to communicate with its members regarding BPA activities, events, and updates and to improve our services and enhance member experience.
The BPA uses data automatically collected through its website and online platforms for various purposes including improving website functionality and analyzing user behavior. Members can manage cookie preferences through browser settings.
Sharing of Information:
The BPA does not sell, trade or share personal information to/with third parties.
Under certain circumstances, the BPA may be required to disclose Your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).

Security Measures:
The BPA committed to ensuring that your personal information is secure. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
The security of personal information is important to the BPA, but no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While the BPA strives to protect personal information, it cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Data Retention:
The BPA retains personal information until and unless a member or former member requests that their personal information be removed. A member or former member may request that their personal information be deleted by contacting the Convention Director at conventiondirector@boardgamers.org. A current member’s personal information will be retained until their membership terminates.
Children’s Privacy
The BPA does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian, or anyone else, is aware that a child has provided the BPA with personal information, please contact the Convention Director at conventiondirector@boardgamers.org. If the BPA become aware that it has collected personal information from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, it will remove that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Please review this policy periodically for any updates.
