2009 Consul Award Richard Moyer

With 14 multiple winners, the race for Consul was the closest ever. In fact, it was so close, we had to resort to the tie-breaker rules to decide between Curt Collins II and Richard Moyer who both hit the Century mark with exactly 100 laurels during WBC. Both our co-leaders won two events, but because Richard won the largest single event by laurel count he took the initial tie-breaker. Of course, both can be thankful that Pre-Con events don't count towards Consul totals or we would be hailing Kyle Greenwood whose 2nd in Hannibal during his very first WBC would have put him over the top at 116 laurels as our Consul. As it was Kyle finished in a four-way tie for sixth at 80 laurels with Steve Pleva, Richard Beyma and John Elliott. Pleva took sixth on the second tie-breaker—most wins. The other top Consul competitors were Jim Castonguay, Chris Withers and 2005 Caesar, Arthur Field.
