The 28th GM of the Year Award was unanimously awarded to Chris Wildes for his efforts at WBC 2022 as well as his efforts to keep the WBC gaming community alive during the pandemic era.

At WBC 2022, Chris was the GM for 7 Wonders Duel, Five Tribes, and Voyages of Marco Polo. These events had a total of 142 participants and 13 2-hour rounds. Chris’s events are very well run and well organized with players enjoying playing in them.

In addition to his efforts at WBC 2022, our gaming community had a void due to the Covid Pandemic from 2020 through early 2022. Chris’s dedication to our gaming community led him to GMing 12 PBeM events in 2021 and 2022 to help all of us fill the void during this period. During this time period, Chris ran two tournaments in each of the following 7 Wonders Duel (2021 & 2022), Can’t Stop (2021 & 2022), Stone Age (2021 & 2022), and Voyages of Marco Polo (2021 & 2022). He also started to run Las Vegas, Saint Petersburg, Splendor, and Thurn & Taxis as annual events in 2022.

His PBeM tournaments are well organized and well run with players enjoying all of them. The total entrants in all his PBeM tournaments during this timeframe was an amazing 619 entrants. We are all thankful for the enjoyment Chris gave us during this timeframe when gaming was difficult due to the pandemic.
