For the seventh straight year, the Team Tournament Champions had at least 1 goose egg from one member of their team. The Band of Fools had three members score points for their team but so did their closest rival, 100 Acres of Wood. Band of Fools ended with 16 points , 8 points from Richard Beyma (The Napoleonic Wars), 1 point from Gary Dickson (The Russian Campaign), and 0 points from Steve Dickson (Merchant of Venus) and 7 points from Tom Gregorio (Bitter Woods). Second Place finishers 100 Acres of Wood had 14 points, led by Matthew Thiessen 11 points (Ra: The Dice Game), 3 points from John Fernando (Dominion) and 0 points from Michael Thiessen (Innovation) and Michal MacMillan-Wang (Ark Nova). With all four games being large events, they won the tie-breaker for second over last year’s champion Terrafarmers/

The Band of Fools and defending Champs Terrafarmers were the only top 10 ranked teams to finish in the Top 10 in 2024. Three teams ranked 44 or higher with odds at 120-1, 100 Acres of Wood, No Dice (sixth), and The Kalt-menagerie (9th), finished in the top 10. The rest of the top ten were Sweep the Leg (fourth), Iron Meeples (fifth), Sweathogs (seventh), School of Sharks (eighth), and A.C.T.S. Whisperers (tenth).

Only the defending Champs Terrafarmers and Iron Meeples had all 4 members score points this year, both ere in the T0p 5. The House of Shea was the only team other than Champions Band of Fools with 3 members scoring but finished twenty-first. Twenty-one teams had 2 players score including six Top 10 teams. Seventeen teams had 1 player score with one in the Top 10 and four in the Top 20. Nineteen teams had no one score.

The big movers against the odds were 100 Acres of Wood up 44 spaces from #46 to #2 , followed by Fight Club up 42 spaces to eighteenth, The Kalt-menagerie up 35 spaces to ninth. Sweep the Leg and Tu Ng Club were up 32 spaces to fourth and twenty-fifth, respectively. 4000-1 Mafia: Manoeuvre managed to move from sixty-first to thirty.

Predicting wins stayed flat with only 7.6%, compared to 7.3% in 2023, of our field (19 entrants) managing to successfully predict their win with 6 (same as 2023) of those achieving it in an event they had not won before. Overall, a total of 34.4% of the participants managed to place in the top 6 of their events, up from 29.9% in 2023. Matthew Theissen proved to be the best, earning 11 points for the 2nd place team followed by Michael Swinson and Andrew Martin contributing 10 points to their teams.

With only 2 of the top ten ranked teams finishing in the top ten of this year's tournament, the Bracket Busting Contest seemed to be up for grabs again for our 38 participants. Unlike last year, one member stood out to beat the odds by correctly picking 5 of the top 10 finishers. Fourteen of our participants managed to pick 3 or more of the Top 10 finishers this year. Unfortune for 13 of them, Ted Lyng led the way be correctly picking 5 of the Top 10 finishers. He was followed closely by Michael Dauer and Nick Pei who picked 4 correct.
